Rose Cottage Childcare is an Early Childhood Education and Care Service delivering high quality care for children aged 0-6 years in Leichhardt. Our purpose built centre caters for 39 children each day between the hours of 7.30am – 6pm.
Our children are grouped into three different play spaces according to these age groups: 0-2 years, 2-3 years and 3-5 years. Each educator has their own personal philosophy and beliefs when it comes to Early Childhood Education. We work collaboratively as a team along with our children and families. We ensure the quality of care and learning delivered is of a high standard and continuously self-assess against the National Quality Standards to plan for future improvements.
Our philosophy at Rose Cottage Childcare reflects each aspect that forms who we are, what we do and why. This includes our children, families, community, our educators and our profession. Together we aim to ensure that each child and family that become a part of Rose Cottage are given the very best opportunity in learning and are able to form strong, secure and safe relationships with all educators.
Our educational program and curriculum is developed and implemented in conjunction with one another as a team and overseen by our Director and Educational Leader of the service. Our practices focus on play-based learning and educators extend on each child’s strength and interests and plan, document and evaluate programs and individual learning all underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes, Principles and Practices.
The children at Rose Cottage Childcare learn through play-based experiences. Our educators focus on a holistic approach to learning. We ensure that all developmental areas are integrated within the educational program and daily routines and experiences.
Our nursery provides a soft home like environment that supports educators in the nurturing of our babies. We have three educators in this room, providing care for up to 12 children.
Rose Cottage has a separate cot room that provides a cosy, relaxing and comfortable sleep area for the babies. Individual routines will be discussed with parents and implemented for each child. Our babies are provided with their own outdoor play area. It allows them access to a space in which they can explore and yet feel safe and secure.
